On December 6, 2023 at the DODE Auditorium in Window Rock, NDSS’s Developmental Disability Program (DDP) team participated in the 15th Annual Disability Awareness Conference. The goal was to provide outreach to community members about the programs and advocacy efforts currently done on behalf of those with disabilities. In attendance were Navajo Citizens, Programs, Advocacy Groups, and anyone interested in the events. Some major discussion topics included wheelchair accessibly at the Navajo Nation Fair Grounds, also ADA accommodations for all Tribal Offices. DDP also provided a 30-minute presentation on DDD program and services and provided information at the booth during the entire event.
